The review of literature will describe the schedule planning process and attempt to answer key questions before airlines begin operations: schedule design, fleet assignment, aircraft routing, routing pattern, and crew scheduling. The paper will also describe the schedule planning issues that airlines face, provide an overview of various modelling approaches, and highlight the implications and challenges associated under various circumstances sucha s severe weather condition where flights cannot be operated. Following the literature review, a methodology chapter is included, which explains the detailed procedure and structure of this paper, as well as the justification of the research methods chosen and the techniques used to collect data. The chosen theoretical framework will be used to identify the most appropriate theoretical models. The findings will be summarised in the final chapter in order to reach a conclusion and make recommendations for airlines in the event of changes to actual plans.
